If you live in one of the 102 countries that Amazon.com supports, you can create a USA Amazon seller account using your personal credit card, address or phone number. However, if you live outside of these countries you’re going to need a credit card, address and phone number from one of the countries that Amazon.com supports.
Here are the different services we recommend for getting these things:
USA credit card: http://wholesaleted.com/go/payoneer
USA phone number: http://wholesaleted.com/go/grasshopper
USA address: http://wholesaleted.com/go/mailboxforwarding
I Live in Australia/United Kingdom/Canada/New Zealand/France/Germany can I still sell on Amazon.com even though I’m not a USA resident?
Absolutely. Amazon.com didn’t used to allow it, but in the past year or so, Amazon.com has opened up its accounts to non-USA residents. Now, people in 102 countries can sign-up. The chances are, your country is supported, and you won’t even need a USA credit card/phone number/address. If your country isn’t supported, then use the services we recommended above to create a USA Amazon seller account with a USA credit card/phone number/address.
Should I Sell as an Individual or as a Professional Account?
If you select to sell as an individual, you won’t have to pay the $39.99 monthly fee. Instead, you will have to pay a $0.99 per-transaction fee on each sale. This means then that if you sell more than 40 items a month, the Professional account is a bargain and the way to go. But until you’re selling more than 40 items, I recommend selecting the Individual account to lower the cost to get started and to minimize your risk.
Don’t Worry About Picking the Best Business Name Just Yet
One of the first things you’re going to have to do when you create a USA Amazon seller account is choose a business name. Don’t stress about this because if you want, you can change your name later if it is still available.
Can I Immediately Start Selling Once I’ve Created my Account?
Yes, you can! One of the wonderful things about Amazon.com is the moment you’ve set up your account, you can start to sell ASAP. You don’t even need to verify your account to post your first listing. There is nothing holding you back: So get started ASAP.
