Amazon Echo is a voice activated digital assistant, similar to Apple’s Siri or Google Now. More info on Echo: http://www.amazon.com/echo

Phone Book is an app built by Appestry that runs in Echo. Use Phone Book to look up business phone numbers and addresses within a city or zip code. It finds the top 5 results, reads each result and waits for your command before reading the next one. You can ask Echo to repeat the result or start a new look up. It is very easy to use without having to navigate through a long list of results or menu choices!

Here is a sample dialog with Echo:

User: Alexa, open phone book
Echo: Opening phone book. What would you like to look up? You can say things like, look up dry cleaners, or, Pizza Hut in Irving, Texas.
User: Look up Pizza Hut in 75063
Echo: I found 5 results for Pizza Hut in 75063. Pizza Hut, 820 South Macarthur Boulevard Suite 102 in Coppell. The phone number is (972) 393-3933. Do you want me to repeat that, or, read the next result?
User: read the next one
Echo: Pizza Hut, 5360 North Macarthur Boulevard in Irving. The phone number is (972) 550-8899. Do you want me to repeat that or read the next result?
User: Look up McDonald’s
Echo: Ok. Where do you want to lookup McDonald’s? You can say places like Dallas, Texas, or, 90210.
…

Phone Book results are provided by Yellow Pages. This app is waiting to be published and is not publicly available in Amazon Echo.
