You have the ability to create ANY product listing on eBay.

You cannot create CERTAIN listings on Amazon unless you have a business account and are approved by Amazon to list such products.

eBay
You have the ability to accept, decline, or counter offers from interested buyers on eBay.

Amazon
You cannot do this on Amazon. There are only Buy it Now listings.

Auctions

eBay
eBay allows you to host an auction for your item. List it at the starting price of your choosing and get people bidding up the price of your item.

Amazon
Amazon only allow buy it now listings.

Shipping Policy

eBay
You have the ability to create your own shipping policy. You can offer free shipping to your customers or you can chose how much to properly charge for shipping.

Amazon
You cannot choose your shipping policy on Amazon unless you have a business account.

Return Policy

eBay
You have the ability to create your own return policy. eBay recommends to have at least a 14 day return policy. You can chose from 14 day, 30 day, or 60 day. You also have the option to not accept returns.

Amazon
With Amazon you have to abide by Amazons standard return policy of 30 days.

Description

eBay
You have more freedom with the description on eBay. You can use HTML and make a really nice listing if you wanted to.

Amazon
On Amazon, your description is more controlled. You can use HTML, but its much more difficult. Youll know what I mean when you watch me list an item on eBay and Amazon. Youll see the difference.

Pictures

eBay
On eBay you have the freedom to post up to 12 pictures for free. The pictures must be at least 500px on 1 side.

Amazon
On Amazon you cannot add any pictures to your listing.

Selling Limits

eBay
On eBay, there are selling limits. When first starting out, youre limited to listing 10 items or $1000 worth.

Amazon
On Amazon, youre not limited. You can list as many items as you want, even if youre just starting out.

Payment

eBay
On eBay, you use PayPal. Theyll take an extra 2.9% per transaction in order for you to get paid.

Amazon
Amazon disburses your sales money into your bank account for free with an ACH transfer.

Customer Feedback

eBay
Getting positive and negative feedback matters more on eBay than Amazon. eBay will kick you off if you get 7 negative feedbacks in a year. I had a 98% positive feedback on eBay after 8 years and they kicked me off.
The perception of positive feedback on eBay is huge. It will make or break a buyers decision on eBay.

Amazon
When I first started selling on Amazon, I cancelled 40% of my sales transaction. This would be a huge no-no on eBay.
On Amazon, Ive been selling on there since 2006 and 8 years later, only have 6 positive feedback and 100%. People dont leave feedback often on Amazon and it doesnt seem to affect my sales ability.
