When you sell online no matter where it is, be it Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, or even your own store, it is absolutely critical that you behave more than reasonable even if the buyer is a total jerk. By being a polite and kind seller, you will greatly reduce the chance of having a tarnished reputation online as a seller and that means more sales and higher dollar sales for you! The customer is almost always right, but I would say for $15 the customer is always right.

Shipping and customer service with Amazon beats Ebay by a mile, but I still enjoy Ebay for what it is. There are advantages and disadvantages for both.

There are a lot of bad articles online about how to ship books. There are even some videos about how to ship books, but I couldn’t find a single good one, and so I made this video to help people ship books correctly. I have gotten books shipped to me in plastic bags and boxes. Bags don’t work because there is no cushion. Boxes usually don’t work because unless there is sufficient padded space around the book, it rattles around and gets damaged. Bflute packaging is the best way to ship a book. You can get Bflute online or locally. When you buy it in bulk, you can wrap a book for about the cost of a padded envelope but for 10x the padding.

You can save a lot of money when shipping with the USPS! Remember, “If it fits, it ships!” Think of how you can creatively jam stuff into those flat rate envelopes so that they will ship safely! Customers always love priority mail shipping and sometimes you can ship stuff out in those envelopes in a way you didn’t think you could! I have been shipping out a lot of stuff lately WOW! I have been shipping out about 3 tubs worth of stuff twice a week! Most of it is books. The best part about books is that they stack so nicely in place. These are the USPS tubs that you can get at any USPS. They usually have a whole ton of them. I use the USPS Flat rate padded envelopes which you can get here.

Here is a quick tip on selling books on Amazon. This tip is for selling old books or ones that have a bad rank. I sell books all the time that are over 5 million rank but it’s only because I have so many. It’s all a numbers game and a matter of patience. I would rather have $10000 in slow selling books than cash sitting in a bank account LOSING VALUE
