Oh, hi, and welcome to the 58th episode of Friday’s Informal Facebook Films! Did you know 58 miles per hour is the minimum wind speed needed to issue a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in the United States? Now you do…

News: No Text on Board Pledge Day
With new phones coming out all the time – like the iPhone 5s we have on order! – the issue of people – and especially teens – texting while they drive has reached epidemic levels.

With nearly 18 texting-while-driving deaths a day of American teens, the phone companies are mobilizing their educational efforts to help curb this frightening trend. Along with assigning last Wednesday as “No Text on Board Pledge Day,” AT&T is launching a campaign featuring celebrities at www.ItCanWait.com. One other unique educational tool employed by the company is an online virtual simulator where users can enter their phone numbers and then begin a simulated driving exercise. While “driving” using keyboard and mouse, their phone will then text them asking for a response. The goal is to show drivers how even a momentary glance away from the road can result in a crash. Check it out for yourself at www.ItCanWaitSimulator.org, or check our show notes for the link.

Remarkable Report: Is Amazon.com Evil?
Chances are you’ve made a purchase at Amazon.com – or at the very least know someone who has. Our experiences doing the same have generally been positive, but a lot of industry professionals have had it “up to here” with the online retailer. The result, you might have to wait a little longer to receive that Kindle you want to buy.

The idea of Amazon.com started innocently enough. As a clearing house – originally for books – but now for nearly anything you can imagine, their business model has always been to offer products at a reduced price. Some brick-and-mortar retailers are now crying foul, however. The reason? Many shoppers demo and research products available on Amazon.com – especially their Kindle eReaders and tablets – in stores, but then buy online at Amazon’s website at a discount. And many of these retailers aren’t just complaining about being Amazon’s showroom any more. This past May Target and – just last Wednesday – Wal-Mart have announced that this holiday season, you will no longer find Amazon’s shiny new Kindles available for purchase in their stores. The last straw might have been last holiday season when Amazon encouraged shoppers to scan Kindles in stores using the Amazon “Price Check” app. Once scanned, each shopper would then receive a $15 discount if they purchased the Kindle online at Amazon.com. What do you think? Is this an honest practice or is Amazon unfairly undercutting other retailers? Let us know…

Just ahead of another busy shopping season, Walmart confirmed that it has updated its price-matching policy company-wide to allow its retail stores to match the prices from nearly any online retailer, including top competitor Amazon. The new policy is meant to extend the informal price-matching store managers have already implemented at local stores, in addition to the Ad Matching policy that has Walmart matching the prices from local brick-and-mortar retailers’ advertised sales. The move is aimed at cutting down on the practice of “showrooming,” where consumers check out physical products at local stores, then shop for a better deal on the web.

CONFEDERATE FLAG BAN – Amazon Staff Claim Government Ordered Them Not to Sell Confederate Flag

Amazon.com staff are telling irate customers that the company was ordered by the federal government not to sell items featuring the Confederate flag in the aftermath of the Charleston shooting.
Have you heard the new one about how Bill and Hillary Clinton’s decades of civil rights advocacy was just a cover for their closet Confederate sympathies? But the national debate over the future of the Confederate flag that flies in front of the state’s capitol has unwittingly given rise to one of the more bizarre Clinton conspiracy theories to date: that Bill and Hillary Clinton, despite decades as civil rights advocates and their right-wing caricature as Northeast liberal elites, are closet Confederate sympathizers. Obama’s great-great-great-great grandfather, George Washington Overall, owned two slaves who were recorded in the 1850 census in Nelson County, Ky., the Baltimore Sun reported in 2007, and Obama’s great-great-great-great-great-grandmother, Mary Duvall, also owned slaves.

From a bikini to a bottle opener to a belt buckle, the Confederate flag shows up on all sorts of merchandise online. eBay said it would ban the sale of the flags and “many items containing this image,”Johanna Hoof, an eBay Just hours after eBay’s announcement, an Amazon official, who was not authorized to comment publicly, confirmed that Amazon is pulling down Confederate flag merchandise.

racially charged massacre of nine black worshipers in Charleston, S.C., last week. Major retailers Walmart and Sears also announced they would stop selling items depicting the Confederate flag. a search for “Confederate flag” on eBay yielded thousands of results falling under cellphones and accessories, sporting goods, jewelry and watches, crafts, computers, even pet supplies. A similar search on Amazon yielded nearly 30,000 results. If Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and the other serious contenders for the Republican nomination haven’t yet contacted Nikki Haley, the governor of South Carolina, to thank her for what she did on Mondaystate capitol in Columbia, Haley didn’t just do the right thing by the victims of last week’s mass shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston Dixie Flag Company in San Antonio had sold 25 Confederate flags in 24 hours, according to the company’s president, Pete Van de Putte. Usually, the company has no more than three orders a week for the flags and sometimes only three in a month, he said. amazon “confederate flag” flag walmart ebay retail sales retailer “online shopping” shopping order e-commerce sale ban boycott u.s. usa america “united states” future history states remove “civil war” theme merchandise clinton “hillary clinton” symbol past 2015 2016 sell buy store “online store” news media entertainment trending trendy viral corporate business sears action leadership south texas “elite nwo agenda” states state shopping mississippi alex jones infowars rant gerald celente max keiser louis farrakhan exposed truth conspiracy false flag attack race war riots fema camp jade helm 15 military industrial complex revolution anonymous gun ban we are change jsnip4 demcad daboo77 daboo777 montagraph Apple Removes All American Civil War Games From the App Store Because of the Confederate Flag
Warner Bros. Bans ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ Car With Confederate Flag

But, the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia is an important symbol for others. Frank Earnest of Virginia Beach, the great-great grandson of a Confederate soldier, and himself a member of the Virginia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, calls McAuliffe’s decision a betrayal. Hillary Clinton commended the groundswell in anti-Confederate flag sentiment at an event in Missouri on Tuesday, calling the battle flag “a symbol of our nation’s racist past.”

The shooting, Clinton said, was “an act of racist terrorism perpetrated in a house of God,” but one where the men and women killed “did not die in vain, did not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Of all the Republicans running for president, Jeb Bush has the most direct experience dealing with the Confederate flag, a symbol once again dominating national debate in the wake of a deadly shooting at a Charleston church last week. It seems he has changed his tune in the last three years somewhere, however, given that he was using the symbol during his 2012 re-election campaign. Hillary clinton had her own brand of Confederate merchandise in 2008. Indeed, Obama had his own Confederate flag campaign badge, which states “Where the confederate flag still flies, we have built a powerful coalition of African Americans and white Americans
