Just a short tutorial showing how to connect to an Amazon Web Services EC2 instance with the FileZilla FTP client.

To use FileZilla with your EC2 instance you will need to convert your keyfile to .pkk – FileZilla will automatically convert the file when you select it. Add the file in the SFTP section under the FileZilla settings.

You will also need to find to find your public dns, you can find this by logging in to aws.amazon.com and looking at your running instance.

When setting up a site in FileZilla, make sure to use “Normal” as the logon type. The username is typically just “Ubuntu”, unless you changed it, and the password is something you choose when setting up your instance.
